This simple desk was made to showcase a piece of Kauri featuring distinctive ‘bearclaw’ grain, a rare pattern that brings a strong visual dynamic to the wood. A hairline fracture in this piece was a gift; locking a fracture with butterfly ties is a timeless and very rewarding practice in our craft.
