Monuments on a small scale, these little boxes are a story of presence and absence, positive and negative space. Removing spherical cuts from the lid and base lends a playful lightness to an otherwise simple volume.
Our boxes are made from swamp kauri and stained maple. The wild kauri we work with creates small, irregular off-cuts, which we use in these delicate pieces. Nothing is wasted and each box is crowned with its own unique gem of thousand-year-old wood.
